1. Sand all the interior woodwork on your boat with the sand paper. Sand the wood in the direction of the wood grain. This will not only buff away any blemishes in the wood, but it will also prep the wood grains for max absorption of the wood sealer.
I used Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane on my trim and bright wood. I used HPDL (think Formica or Wilsonart) in interior ply (cabinets/berths) and painted my ply that was the interior surface of an outside part (back cabin walls, companionway doors, etc..) with Interlux Perfection.

Hello, I have a 40 year old Bristol 32 sloop and plan to refinish the cabin interior. The bulkheads, and cabinet panels are mahogany veneer plywood, and the cabinet frames and drawers are solid mahogany; there also is a little teak trim.
